wild blue satellite internet

I just read that wild blue will be coming out in april 2005?. How d you think it will compare to directway or star band

I habe been talking to someone at Wild blue and it seem that although the dish will be smaller it will be able to transmit at a higher power. if that is the case then the latency problems that you normally get with Directway won't be present in that system, will keep you posted as soon as I learn more.

I have seen a demo of Wild Blue system at a trade show, it was downloading 2x video streams at 210 KB/sec.

The geostationary satellites are 36000 Km above the earth.
Higher power won't make the signal travel faster up and back from them... the latency will always be there.

Wildblue

Have any of you had more experience with their product, I am interested in their product, but don't want to purchase if they are likely to go broke like VOOM with their HD-sat service.
