Need help on Dish Configurations(values)

Hey what's up? I'm having some problems getting VTV4, like who's not. We had this channel ways back when we were using a BEC STB, for some reason it had no signal and gave way. Now i know why, been reading a lot here. Anyways, I'm trying to hook up the 33" dish with the linear Lnb to my Pansats setup. I'm currently in So. California, aimed at 119 and 110. Last night i tried hooking up the 97w to my DiSqC on port #3, everything went good except for scanning VTV4. I tried All satellite scan, blind scan, tp scan but still no luck. I tried to blind scan 11966 H 22.0000 MSPS but the receiver wouldn't let me save that value so instead i went with 11966 H 21.9999, is it the same? I am still having problems picking up VTV4. My brother bought a new 33" dish and i'm thinking it could be the Lnb by reading all the posts on this specific channel, he tried picking up 97w but it looks like he gave up.

Anyways my question is, do i need to change the values on the dish settings before i do any scans? I don't want to mess with the other dish if i don't have to. My configurations look like this on my Pansat 2500:

Lnb type-standard
lnb local freq-10750
22khz-off
Diseqc-#3
skew-24
tp-(14)11902 H 5.000 Note:that i played with the tp but the quality gets poor
Positioner setting-disable
satellite scan- all

I also played with the advanced scan, looks like this
DnFreq-12.152 MHz, i change it to 11966/ is that right?
Symbol rate-20.000 Msps, i changed it to 22.000
polarity- horizonal
channel name
Video PID:3105
audio PID:3106
PCR PID:3105
Note: that i entered these values, did a tp scan with NO PROGRAM FOUND

I'm picking up 97w, these are some of the programs i'm getting
NTA
LAO tv
al Jeezer english
tbn russia
many more, all except for the program i'm looking for

Any suggestions? Do i have my values correct? Does anyone see anything wrong here? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know a little about FTA but i'm not a tester. If it is the LNb and i use that new dish my bro got. Do you think the old dish is still good to pickup the 101 bird? Is that Vietnamese channel easy to pickup or is it like this VTV4?

I had this posted somewhere else, sorry just found the new thread button and had to make sure someone saw this.

TP 11966 horz.
SR 22000
v pid 3105
a pid 3106
pcr 3105

as you have program. alot of people having trouble with this transponder with smaller dishes would recommend a 36" dish or larger to lock this TP.

I just changed out the lnb from another dish and what do you know, Houston we have lift off. I got it, i finally got VTV4. The picture is really bad and the audio skips a lot. I 'm just gonna fine tune the dish, but do you still suggest a bigger dish for better quality? I'm getting pixation big time. I don't watch the programs,it's for my moms. Thanx again!!

Hey Rainman, do you know the 101w(AMC4) satellite really tough to get? I'm planning on getting a 90" dish for the Telestar 5 bird and using that old dish to pickup the 101w? What do you think? I was also thinking about a motor, but never have had any experience with one.

I am watching RTP and Kenya live tv + vietnam on 101W AMC4(KU) and also some on 103W is very strong unlike 101W.
Having difficulty getting 97W but harder to find.
Using 2x 90cm + 120hh motor for this. Motor replcement on it's way so stationary for the time being.

I found that by getting 105W or 103W and then 95W or 97W and very slowly hand moving the dish to 101W is the only way but hard as nails to get right and lots of patience.
If you can seriously get the $59 JVI 10 as the analog signal finder is good but only to annoy the mother in law or find the dog in the neigbhors yard .

103W to 97W = 6deg = 101W half way in between almost. Same with elevation / arch.

Hope this helps. SRY I am new to the game.

I am in San Jose, and I have a motor, but if you need just 97W and 101W, you may not need one. When I sent my motor for repair last fall, I experimented a bit, and I was able to get these both sats, just by attaching a second LNBf. I aimed my dish at 97W, then attached a second LNBF to the "east" side of the first one, moved it up and down until I got a good signal (receiver was with me on the roof), the tied it up with insulation tape and zip - ties. You don't need any bracket, because the distance between the two should be very small.
Also, I have no problem receiving 11966 H with 80cm dish, I watch Russia Todat from that TP.
