I've got the reverse situation -- I must use the "Nimiq 1" setting to find both Nimiq 1 and Nimiq 2 !!!
"Nimiq 2" setting on my Birdog finds zip...

Well; its no biggie IMHO...

I just use "Nimiq 91" position to locate both birds -- and since you know Nimiq 91 is further west than Nimiq 82 and since their elevations differ by only a degree or two, its a no-brainer when aligning the dish; I think you could do the same but use your Birdog's "Nimiq 82" position to find both satellites.

I have never tried to contact tech support at Perfect 10 so I can't comment on their service. My unit works great now that I've sorted out the cause of the bizarre I2C error.

To paraphrase an old cliche -- "The only way I'll give up my Birdog is when they pry it from my cold, dead fingers" HeHeHe

Yup; my problem was an intermittent short on my test coax...and check the connectors to make sure they are tight.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it at all, but when Nimiq 2 launched it was to have all the Nimiq 1 programing duplicated to it then take over as Nimiq 1 at 91 degrees. Nimiq 1 would then become Nimiq 2 and move to 82 degrees. Unfortunately Nimiq 2 failed and they were not able to recover all the transponders, so Nimiq 1 remained in it's original location and the new sat moved to 82 degrees instead. Perhaps that is why the meter mixes the two up?

Yes, you are right -- Nimiq 82 was supposed to be parked in the 91 degree orbital slot since its the newer bird and Nimiq 91 was to move over to 82 degrees; the partial xponder failure made Telesat Canada rethink their plan; that could be why the Birdog can't find Nimiq 82. Good theory.

Try calling perfect10, they specifically have one person assigned
to the birdog. He's the go between with Horizon overseas.
Nice guy, but Horizon needs to produce. They have known since Winter
want the problems are.
