Birdog and universal KU LNBs

Does anyone know if the Birdog can lock onto signals from a Universal LNB? I use Standard LNBs almost exclusively but on the last three T5 related service calls the customers had a Universal LNB. My Birdog would not find T5 at all; so I swapped LNBs and put one of my Standard LNBs on and the Birdog found T5 immediately. Does this meter have issues with Universal LNBs or am I just being a dink?

The BIRDOG does not have 22KHz tone, thus it will not work with a UNIVERSAL LNBF. Only standard (C & KU band) and DSS lnbfs will work with the BIRDOG.

I highly recommend to installers to keep a tester STANDARD LNBF with them all the time to use with the BIRDOG. This will make your life easier, and eliminate any guess work.
