No signal! VTV4

Hi,
First, thank you for your time reading my problem. I have the Fortec Star Lifetime (Satellite = T5/KU). The satellite stuffs are new for me, i am a total stranger to these kind of stuffs.

I basically lost signal of VTV4 which DFrequence = 11.966 (H) and SR = 22.000. The message said i got no signal at all.

I found another VTV4 at DFrequance = 121777 (V) and SR = 23.000, which has the signal but it said "blurry or wrong channel" and doesnt post up images or sounds.

So i am kind of confuse trying to find which VTV4 is the good one. I tried all the tricks that was posted on this forums : I edited a new transponder, but it couldnt detect any channel ( no signal) . I tried to scan the 121777 frequence one, and it would give out others different channel instead of VTV4.
Even the auto scan doesnt detect it.
Altho, others channels work perfectly, except VTV4.

I read about the trees blocking signal, we do own 2 big giant maple trees, but the dish doesnt point at the trees (rather 90 deg. from them). So any suggestions to this problems is welcome (so that my mom can leave me alone).

Thank you for your times.

The 11,966 MHz is the new frequency. You should use this one. I don't know why you can't get VTV4 - another guy posted a thread like this earlier. Try reading that thread and see if it helps. If you get other channels from 11,966 MHz then you don't have a signal problem. Its something with the uplinker - maybe they changed something.

hi boroda1,

Thanks for the reply. Did any of the parameter change as of yesterday, I know of at least two people here in VA with the same problem. The frequency 11966 MHZ and SR 22000 and Horz. setting are still the same and it stopped working. All the channel lineups in this transponder are gone.

What are APVD and APHD settings? I never had to change those values and I don't think my receiver allow me to change.

Please help!

Hi Boroda,

I tried to change VPID and APID but it also asked for CPID value. What do I put there? All the PID came up zero if I don't enter a number there.

Thanks in advance!

Put the CPID the same value as the VPID.

Thank you for all replies, i will try to change the VPID, and APID...However i have no idea where they are, i will try to figure it out.

I will let on some news about the problem.

EDIT: I found how to change the VPID and APID, still, it doesnt found anything. Strange thing, is that my satellite cannot detect the frequency of 11.966 MHz, consequently, the scan doesnt show any channel.

I am the same as Kashiru, cannot receive frequency 11.966 MHZ at all. Setting the PID values does not do anything if we cannot receive the signals. Is there any truth to the fact that the TP signals are weaker during the last few days?

no problem here... receiving that tp as strong as always...
VTV4 is working no problem...

Just as test.. - if 11966 H 22000, doesn't work for you.. - try maybe 11966 H 21991 .. and see if it's any better...

(i think i recall, on one of my receivers - 22000 didn't work (not when i tried anyhow) .. but i got it to work with 21991

On the other one - i recall - both 22000 and 21991 value - both worked no problem..

So just try maybe 21991 .. and see if it will help.. (can't hurt anyhow)

The easiest way to get VPID and APID right, is to rescan the transponder.
Actually it's 11965 H for me, not 11966 H, but I think it makes no difference.
I will check it again (when I get home) with another receiver, FS Ultra, I am playing with now.
I am on West Coast, is it possible that signal is still shows up for me, but not for other geographic areas?

Hi all,

For the last few days, TP 11966 signal is weaker than before (I live in the Middwest). You have to adjust the dish or wait for the stronger signal.

I have 2 dual LNBFs on the 76cm Winegard dish to receive VTV4 and VPT). The 1st receiver (25' away) gets the signal, but the 2nd one (80' away) does not get it.

guys,

I tried everything with the settings for frequency and PID values, no luck. It just seem strange that the TP just dissapear for me all of the sudden. Stranger still that some of you got it and some of us don't. I looked at the satellite chart and it does show that the signal should be strongest in the midwest and weaker as you get away from the center of the country. This is the only way I can imagine something like this can happen, I live in Virginia so may be my signal is weaker.

Thanks for all the help. I wonder if getting a bigger dish would help. I appreciate any input.

Thanks,

I dont think it is the satellite dish (not sure), somehow everything was working fine 2-3 days ago. The channel suddenly ran out of signal for 11.966 MHz.

My aunt has Tail Star 5 or something, VTV4 works perfectly for her...

I will try the 11.965 Mhz and the 21991 tomorrow (rainy tonight). Let's hope that it will work.
