what did i do wrong?

i bought 2 motorized dish kit from sadoun. 36in and 31in. i have no problem at all finding vtv4 and amc 4 with 36 in. in fact it was very easy to find the signals. my31 in fortec, pansat2500a, qph 31 lnb is giving me a major headache. for weeks i can not lock the signal. i found the signal but could not get any higher than 20% quality. i did move the dish up and down, left to right very very very slowly but the results are either a very constant 20% level OR jumping from 5% to 99% very quick which is impossible for me to tighten up the bolts. what am i missing. thank you.

When you get the best Q signal (even 20%). Bolt all nuts down, and slowly move the LNB in and out. Find the best Q signal and rotate the LNB CW and CCW a little until you get a good signal.

This is not recommend for a newbie: if the signal continues to improve when you move the LNB in/out, try to take it out of it holder, and continue on that path. If you find a better signal with the LNB outside it holder range, bend the arm a little until it can hold the LNB at a good place. They all have some tolerance in production, so this is not an exception.

I have my Wingard 30" receiving both AMC4 and Telstar5 satellites with two LNBs standing side by side in Houston, TX @ 55 elev. It takes time. Good luck

The QPH's linear side is a STANDARD type lnbf. So make sure your LNBF TYPE in your receiver is setup as standard with LO freq 10750 and 22KHz OFF
