Question about Satellite Dish and Receiver for T5

I'm having a really difficult time locating T5. I'm trying to get the FTA Vietnamese channels for my parents but it's been days and I still cannot find a signal. Can you tell me if the dish I have is compatable with my receiver and if you have any suggestions. I'm running the international coaxial cable through the 13/18 V input and 101 on 13 V on the multiswitch. Let me know if you need more clarification on the LNB or any of the setup. thanks

If the only channel you want is VTV4 on IA5 then I would put up another 33" dish with a linear LNB. Wire it up to your receiver and forget the DTV dish and multiswitch altogether.

Is my DTV satellite dish a lost cause? Because I just bought that to pick up 101 and 95. I'd like to put it to use if at all possible. In the event that I can't use that I also have a Dishnet Superdish, would that be ok?

Are you going to try getting DTV on your Pansat? It won't work. I think the Superdish will work for IA5.

No, I'm only wondering if the DTV dish I bought would be able to pick up a T5/101 signal with the pansat receiver because I've tried for days and cannot find either satellite. I don't want DTV channels just the FTA channels on T5 and 101. I was wondering if anyone had worked with that particular dish before and if there are suggestions on what to do and how to get a signal.

OK; well I have never worked with that DTV dish because I'm in Canada. Sorry I cannot help you any further. :mozilla_frown:

T5 sat

The international DTV dish is NOT pointing at T5, where VTV 4 is located. It is pointing to Galaxy 3C at 95deg W. If you want to use this dish for VTV4, you will have to point it to T5 at 97W, elevation will be 1-2 deg lower as well, depending on where you are. The DTV switch most likely is not compatible with a FTA receiver either, so you have to connect the LNB directly to the receiver in this case.

Also, remember that if you do all the above things, your dish is no longer receiving DTV signal!
