VTV4 Transponder change... the sequel
Effective Oct. 1/05 VTV4 has moved to a new transponder; same as it was back in June but this time it looks permanent. The new parameters are:
frequency = 11,966 MHz
polarity = HORIZONTAL
symbol rate = 22,000
You must edit or add a transponder to your FTA receivers (unless you own a blind search model). Enter the data above for the new transponder and scan that transponder. VTV4 will come in.
Please note that the new transponder is weaker than the previous one and you may need to tweak your dish to bring it in. If you get no signal at all you may have a bad LNB. The old transponder was VERTICAL polarity and the new one is HORIZONTAL. Some LNBs, if they go bad, will pick up only one polarity but not the other. Many of our customers watch only VTV4 and therefore they never knew they had a bad LNB until the transponder changeover. Also, check for bad cable connections and make sure there are no splitters in line between the dish and receiver.

Not sure if new TP is weaker then the old one.. it's about the same for me..
But regardless, VTV4 is still at 12177 as of this morning.. Sunday morning.. currently anyhow..
It's still at both Tps at the present time.

The new transponder is weaker here in Toronto. I have no idea where you are Darkman. Yeah, the old transponder is back to active again; weird because all day Saturday it was off. I wonder what they are up to..... ??? :-k

Now on Monday - they are showing on 12177's VTV 4 instructions how to scan receiver(s) .. i guess for the other VTV 4 channel at 11966
So maybe VTV 4 is gone now from 12177 .. or maybe .. for now anyhow.. they are planning to show instructions on 12177 VTV 4 for some part of the day.. and then still be showing VTV 4's content for a time being.. before getting rid of it from 12177 tp all together..
We ll see i guess.

You have to do as I outlined above in this post. You need to add a transponder and enter the parameters given. Refer to your receiver manual for help on how to do this.

You must ADD a new transponder to the list. The receiver manual will tell you how.

If you did not move the dish, then the problem is likely a bad LNB or cable connector. Or the dish is very slightly out of alignment.

Hi Khanh:
Welcome to the forum.
You need at least a 33" dish with linear LNB and any type of FTA receiver such as Fortec that Sadoun sells here.
For setup instructions you should read some of the threads on this forum and also read Sadoun's most excellent installation hints on Sadoun's website.
Also check out LyngSat - Lyngemark Satellite for information on the transponder data for VTV4 - it is on Galaxy 25.
Good luck and post back if you have any specific questions.

Need help
I found the sat & signal for VTV4 with a 36 inches dish, but I got picture(80% signal, 60% quanlity) only when I connect cable directly from LNB to receiver. I have to use the switch(4*1) for dish 500 and 36 inches Dish, and VTV4 is lost. Anyone can share and help me with this issue?Thanks
