Telstar5 Signal Strength and Quality

Hello,

Xin chào tất cả các bạn.

I'm getting 83 for signal and 98 for quality. However, VTV4 is blocky at times especially when the video is in motion. Also, the sound is not so good; it's cracking. I'm using the DMT1050 receiver. The Fortec Star LifeTime receiver yields the same result.

Is 83/98 acceptable, or should I have patience and fine-tune it to get a better reception? I live in Fresno, CA (93722), which is between San Jose and Los Angeles.

Thanks,
Quang

Hi Kanakanak,

Thanks for your reply; however, that doesn't help me much as my transporter 10 is already set up with the pameters you specified. I'm trying to determine if it is normal to experience that VTV4's video is blocky and its audio is somewhat cracked.

Do you think a more expensive receiver would improve the video and audio generally not just VTV4?

Thanks,
Quang

If it is the only channel with this problems, I don't think another receiver will do better. Sorry, I cannot be more helpful... :mozilla_oops:

Those are excellent numbers. You must remember that some FTA channels on T5 (and other satellites) and very limited in bandwidth so the picture does not always look really sharp. Some FTA receivers tend to freeze the motion on VTV4 sometimes - other receivers don't have this problem.
