Sathawk Meter

I just purchased a sathawk 3000. I tried to use it to locate both starband sats and it won't find. I verified with a birddog. It will find direct 101. What's up?

That seems to be all I can see with my SATHAWK (DTV-101) I just sent mine back for a replacement, did you download the new software? I kept getting an error message that read "send new line (0) failed" also I had a great deal of trouble getting it calibrated. echo 110 & 119 seemed to be maxed out to 99 and ended up with a 75 in the house. After re-tuning with radios and a helper got it up to 120 on 119 (tp#11) and 105 on 110 (tp11).

I purchased 2 of these meters. Went to Columbus to personally pick them up. Both of them are failing when charging. They simply shut down. Sadoun will not respond to repeated requests for assistance, phone calls go unreturned, and the staff seems generally unresponsive to me. It seems like, hey, they got my money, who cares if the darn things work.

Thses meters have been problems from the outset, they fail to calibrate properly, as mentioned on other posts, it'll show high readings at the dish, but inside it's all over the map.

I'm fairly dissapointed in both the quality and service Sadaun has provided me thus far, and the ignoring me thing is really annoying.

I provide services through four states, and we were considering a mass purchase of these devices, but the first two are duds, and Sadoun will not get off the pot and do anything about them.

We will find other meters, and we'll go on, but I think our relationship with Sadoun is irreversably damaged by their outright refusal to actually support, service, and maintain a relationship with us.

I feel sorry for the installers who've spent so much money just to be ignored, and maltreated by Sadoun.

As to a solution, I don't know if there is one. The chargers that come with the units are junk, and as with many of the others posting here, there are other, bigger problems with these units.

Worst decission I ever made was to buy the Sathawk 3000's. They should have been called the "Don't work Worth a Crap Sat Missers 3000's."

I'm very dissapointed, can you tell?

Hi wolfmasterprime

We just heard about your issue over the weekend through your email and request for RMA #. We sent you the RMA number right away. We haven't had problems with units not charging. Anyone else have this problem?

Send them back and we will be happy to replace them if necessary. We can't keep these units in stock. We have been sold out for a few weeks and looking forward to getting our new shipment in.

We don't like to ignore our customers and I hope our reposne will help out.

It it could be possible you have had bad adapters. Have you tried charging it using the CAR charger?
