What I really want in a meter

Hi all...

I now have both a birdog and a sathawk 3000

But I gotta tell y'all what I really want:

A meter that can tune individual transponders. I really want to be able to pick the *weakest* transponder on a particular satellite and get that weak one as strong as possible.

This would be especially useful when pointing at two satellites that are really close to each other (e.g. Nimiq 1, Nimiq 3).

Any suggestions? Or am I going to have to build some homebrew battery powered IRD, with a LCD display and a battery that weighs 8 pounds?

thanks!

Sure, get a spectrum analyzer.

Kat,

'k -- do you have any suggestions of make or model? Somehow I suspect that a spectrum analyzer is a pretty pricy object...

thanks!

Yes, I have some models and info; PM me for details. They are expensive; $1,500 up to $20,000
