Using Birdog on Anik F1

I just bought a birdog satellite meter and can not find any files for locating the starchoice anik F1 satellite. Can anyone help me out?

It sure works great for locating Nimiq 91.

Hmmm...

Anik F1 should be in the list -- at least it used to be when I downloaded my first list over a year ago. Maybe they removed it. I'll check.

Dang Skippy !! You're right. That sux. I wonder if the Anik E2R position would find F1 -- guess you could always try it. I have Anik F1 loaded in one of my Birdogs but I don't think I could extract the software and send it you you.

Birdog support told me that Anik F1 use's a different cyper and that the meter will not recongize it. 8(

I loaded Anik E1 and used that as a referance point, find it, the swing the dish about 4 degree's to the east and the meter picks up anik F1, partially.

What is odd is this, the new starchoice dish's use a quad LNB with the duel lnb's in one unit. If the dish skew is correct, why does the meter pick up E1 but needs to be moved over to get F1.

I don't know. I've only done a handful of StarChoice installs and that was before I got the Birdog. I'm still amazed that you got through to Birdog support... :shock:
