TV Truyen Thong on AMC 4
I am interested in receiving the Vietnamese channel on AMC 4 (TV Truyen Thong). The channel is on TP 21 (freq. 12120 V, SR 30000, FEC 3/4, VPID 38, and Audio 39). I know the channel is encrypted, but does anyone know the contact information of the company hosting this channel so that I my inquire about subscribing to it? If anyone is currently subscribing to it, how are the shows? I really enjoy watching VTV 4, but living in the Central Time Zone, I can only watch VTV 4 from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Thanks in advance.

I finally got a reply from the people running TV Truyen Thong. They said that it currently costs $10.00 a month to watch their one and only channel. They collect the fee yearly, so $10.00 x 12 months + $20.00 activation fee = $140.00 for the first year. They said that they plan to broadcast 24/7, but right now they are only broadcasting 4 hours/day and that braodcast is repeated 6 times throughout the day to fill the 24 hour slot. They gave a phone number (703-891-1465) to call if anyone wants some more information. Also, they said that their website ( http://www.radiohaingoai.com) gives some technical information on the channel.

Thanks for sharing the information with the members. It would be nice if they would move the channel to IA5.

TV Truyen Thong not in full service yet!!!
Yes, the TV Truyen Thuong uses Iredo2 format signal, FTA receiver cant encrypt it. To see it, we hav subcribe from local cable for extra extra $5 + service package. watch by SAT hav to pay $140/year + hardware(IRD,Receiver,Dish=$200). I dont' think they brocast full capacity as they advertise yet cuz still encouter alot of problem.
About the radio, you can pic them free from ACM4, or just buy 40buck radio from them if you in the brocasting regions, which aval in many big cities now.
I will get you guy update when somethin comin up.

Read over this entire thread -- most of your questions can be answered right here.
There is one Viet channel on AMC4.
It is called TV Truyen Thong.
It is from the United States.
VTV4 (on IA5) is from Hanoi.

They are on the air but have been having many technical problems over the last couple of days. It was out all day yesterday and today only video but no audio. As of 8:30 PM EST the audio has returned.

The channel number is not important; the receiver will assign a channel number as it scans the transponder. The important data you need for the transponder is:
freq = 12,120 MHz
polarity = VER
symbol rate = 30,000 kcps
It does not matter what the transponder number is either, as long as the above data is keyed in.
