121 worked for me.
105 doesn't register at all, evcen using the BER.
148 doesn't register, 119 will work as 148, besides being 119.

Did you need to change BER Linear to BER Log. ie:
If the meter is being used to lock onto one of the FSS signals used by the (Dish Network’s) SuperDish, the Set-up Menu will need to accessed and the BER (last option in set-up) be placed on “BER Log” (rather than BER Linear).

Using the Birdog Meter with the FSS signal for Dish Network’s SuperDish signals at 105 West and 121 West:

The Version 2.20 and Version 2.50 have options for two different (scales) methods of reading signal strength: “Linear”, and “Logarithmic”.

If the meter is being used to lock onto one of the FSS signals used by the (Dish Network’s) SuperDish, the Set-up Menu will need to accessed and the BER (last option in set-up) be placed on “BER Log” (rather than BER Linear).

The Logarithmic scale will read the weaker signals and once a “Found” is indicated, will read a higher percentage on the Q-reading. While the “BER Linear” may indicate a “Found”, depending on other factors like your location, etc., it may not give a satisfactory percentage for fine-tuning the antenna.

I found this on some website -- hope it helps you out.

For the record:

I have never been able to lock onto EchoStar 61.5 even though the Birdog is supposed to; I'm using firmware version 2.01

kat

It can't find Nimiq 82 either which kind of sucks for me...

I have version 2.5. I followed the instructions in the news section at
http://www.birdog.tv/default.asp?CallType=NEWS, with no results for 105*.

61.5 dish & voom are perfect. Both Niniq's read. One nimiq gives false
reading, I believe at 61.5.

I suppose, with the next upgrade, I'll be in the same situation.
$450 lost. Horizon needs to credit their loyal customers.

Birdog has been aware of the 105* & 148* problems for 6 months.

This information, just stumbled my way, because of this thread.
Here's who in charge & the manufactor:

61.5 also reads as nimiq 91.

I just checked 121, it no longer works!
Now when you want 121, the Birdog wil identify it as either,
Rainbow 61.5, Nimiq 82, all 110's & 119's except the BSS, because
these last two are so close.
Its a great meter, sad to see these problems.
I think the 10-Signaloc-Pro, has'nt identified the 105 or 121 positions,
or its not in the software.

Yeah - it kinda blows but for me as long as it sniffs out Nimiq 91 and Telstar 5 I'm cool with it. I know it is designed to do way more but I'll live with its shortcomings...

kat

PS: Mine also finds DTV 101, DishNet 119, AMC 4, Galaxy3C and Galaxy 10R without a hitch.
