New Vietnamese channel on AMC4
The new Vietnamese channel is tesing now on AMC4. It is showing color bars for now. Keep your eyes on this. Like other paid channels, I assume it will be FTA for first few weeks for promotion.
12120, V, SR 30000, Vpid 38, Apid 636, PCR 38.

hi, i have a BEC 6600+, but i doesn't have a place to put an access card. Since the new vietnamese channel is a paid channel, i will have to purchase some kind of access card from them right? Is it possible to upgrade the reciever to have a card slot? |

It's testing phase and FTA, so any FTA DVB is able to see this as long as it's FTA. You can get this new channel by rescaning the freq.

Yes, you are correct. When it goes encrypted, you will need another receiver which accepts CAM (smart card) to view it. You should contact the programer for more details.

Last night, I listened to the Vietnamese Public Radio on AMC4, they annouced the the cost of this new Vietnamese channel is $160 per year. No mentioned about the cost of smart card, look like the channel will use Irdeto encryption. Still color bars now. The service will be available arround end of this month (perhaps April 30, "Fall of Saigon day")

i listened to vpr last night and they said the smart card cost $20 and 12 months of subscription is $120.. |

They just announced that they will officially start the program on May 23.
Hopefully, it will be FTA for the first few weeks.
