No audio on VTV4 ??

Any of you guys been having problems with certain receiver models - namely ARIZA - experiencing no audio from time to time? I have had a few custies complain about "no audio" lately...but only on VTV4.

As I know, this problem happened before? I don't have this problem with my receivers (Fortec, Satcruiser, BEC and Scientific Atlanta).
I guess you might contact the uplink to report the problem.

yeah, its weird. I tried one of our ARIZA receivers here in the shop and it is OK; but 4 customers have called to report the problem. But several hundred others have not !! So I have no idea what's going on ... :roll:

Did you ask them to rescan the freq? (make sure they know what they doing). Or ask them to check the audio pid to see if they have a correct one.

Yeah; I think that's the best solution -- perform a rescan. As for "make sure they know what they're doing"... LMFAO !!!! :lol: :lol: :shock:

I have an Ariza receiver and I have sound on VTV 4 channel. When is it happening? I've noticed that sometime I have to switch from left to right to get better sound. Since 2 days, Car World TV is airing a show on this channel every morning.

I don't know when its happening but since VTV4 only airs from 8:00 pm to 4:00 am EST daily; this is when my customers notice it. I have been running my system all day and its fine; so I guess I'll wait to see how many customers call in to complain. Thanks etlam34.

have yall heard anything about a new vietnamese channel on satellite from Washington DC?

They replied to my question a month ago saying the channel will be available at the end of this month. Not sure if there are any changes.

Last night I watched to see what's happenning with the channel. I've noticed that there's sound coming only from the left audio channel. So tell your customers to change the sound option to left.

I guess it will be on AMC4, same transponder which the Vietnamese Public Radion use (12120 V 30000)

I heard that it will be a paid channel, but very good chance it will be FTA for the first few months.

With etlam34's most excellent tip I discovered how to get audio back on VTV4; just switch from left to right channel or vice-versa and audio is there. I guess VTV4 or the uplinker is having problems -- hopefully it will be back to normal soon. Meanwhile when custies call in we can help them right over the phone -- thanks etlam43 !!!
