I have a briddog 2.20 that was purchased back in October. I used it to install 20 85 cm dishes pointing at SatMex 5 Ku horizontal and it performed flawlessly. I kept it charged all this time and today I tried to use it to make a similar instalation and it does not find the bird. Furthermore, I have 1 mt antenna pointed at SatMex 5 and when I connect the birddog to it, it fails to show a satellite fond message. I am certain that I am on the right bird because I am able to receive programming off of it. I visited the website and downloaded the default setting just in case but the problem did not go away. My questions: is there something I should do to the unit other than turining it on after it was off for over 4 months (battery was kept charged)? Could there be something wrong with the unit?
Furthermore - make sure the "test" cable - if you use one - is still in good shape (no corroded or intermittent connectors, etc.) and that the connectors on the Birdog input are tight. I have found the Dog to be very picky about loose connections; you'll get either no signal (in your case) or the dreaded "IC2 Error"
