Help Please

Hello All,

I a newbie here, i got a couple questions hope you can guys can help me out.

I 'm thinking of buying a Invacom QPH-031 LNB and 31" Fortec or Winegard Dish . I'm not sure exactly which dish is better to work better with VTV.

Can someone tell me the difference between Winegard and Fortec dish please? or they work the same?

And what receiver do they work best with or it doesn't matter?...

I got a Viewsat Platinum and it got Intelsat 97.0W on it. Whenever i turned to Intelsat 97.0W i got like 80% of the S signal but it still read RED, and the Q signal is blinking very fast from 0-30%. I'm currently using 18" dish from D**h N*twork.

If I am to install the Invacom QPH-031 LNB and 31" dish, would i have a chance of picking up the vietnamese channel? Please give me some advices guys. Thanks in advance.

Yes,

18 inch dish is just TOO small for 97 West KU...

30 inch / 75 cm is a minimum recommended for 97 W .. but people get WAY better results with a 40 inch / 1 meter dish for example.. - and if you were to install another dish - i would personally recommend going with a 40 inch instead of 30 inch .. - in a long run you ll be more happier with it at 97 West, trust me!

The Q signal is what really matters .. at installation screen there.. - that is why "0-30" obviously and logically so is NOT enough.. - that is why you are having problems...

---

On a different note, you dont have to "blank" with * DISH Network at this forum here (to have "D**h N*twork", or something simular).
You will NOT be penalized for it here

At the same time though, you should keep in mind, that this forum here is a "No Hacking Talk" forum... so when posting something, post according to the rules!

And welcome to the forum by the way!

welcome to the forums so close. as Darkman said you will be much happier with the larger dish at 97 w. I have a 36" dish that does fairly well but the 40 would be alot better. as far as Fortec or Winegard it is a preference to each user I have the Fortec and it seems to work just fine.

You will not get anything from 97 with a Dn dish for another reason. It is the wrong lnbf. There is no reason to purchase the invacom qph-031 to receive 97. A straight linear lnbf will be fine and less expensive. Chiming in with 36" or larger on dish. I would not go any larger than 1m unless you own your home and are not in a HA situation.
