The capital of Vietnam, Hanoi, is located at 106 east longitude and 21 north latitude lying in the fertile Red River Delta. The Red River, To Lich River, and Kim Nguu River surround the city, which play an important role in the lives of the people. Monsoons affect its tropical climate. Hanoi has four seasons. In Spring, between February to April frequent drizzle is common. A lot of rain and sunshine can be seen in Summer from May to August. The cool and clear season of Autumn, from September to November, is regarded as the best season in Hanoi. The weather in Winter, from December to January, is cloudy and wet. Hanoi is the second largest metropolitan cities after Ho Chi Minh City with a land area of over 900 sq km.
Hanoi Opera House
The Hanoi Opera House, the largest theatre in Vietnam, is situated on Trang Tien Street near the Red River and east of Hoan Kiem Lake. Its construction started in 1901 and was completed in 1911. Previously the site was a big pond, adjacent to the city gate of Tay Long (also called Tay Luong) of the ancient Thang Long capital. The Hanoi Opera House is the same architectural style as the Opera House in Paris, France. Some foreign architects said that due to being built nearly 300 years after the Paris Opera House, the Hanoi Opera House avoids superfluous architectural details, which make it more magnificent and attractive
