VoIP cordless phone: can't get it to work.

I've had my new UTStarcom voip phone (F1000) for two months and have yet to make (or receive) a call. The company that makes it (UTStarcom) doesn't offer tech support, and I've tried following directions from my voip service provider, to no avail. they blame my ISP but my isp says they don't block any ports, so ...... what to do.
I was crazy & paid $150 for this equipment, so I tried selling it on ebay but didn't get my reserve price of $100. I guess everyone's wise to this piece of junk.

Anyone out there own one of these? anyone gotten it to work?

I guess it's just an expensive paperweight at this point.

Thanks.

VOIP with my UTStarcom F1000

Thanks for your replies and your continued interest in helping me.

My provider is InPhonex and also SIPphone. I have tried getting help from both, but ultimately they blame the equipment (either the F1000 or my ISP). UTStarCom assures me it's not the fault of their equipment, although it was almost impossible to get anything from them in the way of help: they do not provide customer tech support !
My ISP checked out ports etc and assured me no ports were being blocked.

So I think it's back to a settings problem, but I can't get either Voip provider to help beyond a general setup scenario.

Frankly I've given up, after spending dozens of hours trying to get this to work. If any one is interested in buying this F1000 I'll sell it at a great loss and write it off to my stupidity for not determining first if the manufacturer would stand behind the product before I bought it.

Thanks.

If this thread still alive.

I have a friend with a similar problem. His problem was with the callerID and voice mail. From what we found out the signals used by VOIP and the regular Phone company to activate caller ID are diferent, thus causing the caller ID and the phone itself to missbehave. I think he replaced one of the phones with a diferent brand and now his system is working fine.

If some one is interested, I might be able to find exactly what he did (by the way this friend of mine is a phone guy so he did some research on this issue).
