Twinhan PCI Card and 22 kHz Switch Problems

    Hi

I have a new Twinhan 1025 (or 102G or whatever they're called nowadays) that won't seem to switch my 22 kHz switch to select between C-band and Ku-band on my big dish system. I have verified operation of the 22 kHz switch with my Integra 910 DVB receiver and my Twinhan card works great if I don't use the switch.

I've also tried a DISEQC switch in place of the 22 kHz switch and it fails as well.

Is the Twinhan switching support problematic? Perhaps I have a defective card? Does anyone else have any success getting a Twinhan PCI card to switch using 22 kHz or DISEQC?

I've got a Twinhan Starbox II and it can't switch anything either. I don't think Twinhan knows how switches are supposed to work.

Yes, switching is problematic with some of the Twinhan cards. I have a couple Twinhan 1020a cards. At first, the Twinhan card would not switch a diseqC switch at all. However this was when I had an underpowered power supply on my computer. I think I had something in the range of 300-350 Watts. I put the coax from the card on an oscilloscope, I could see the card sending DiseqC signals, and also 22KHz signals, but there was also a lot of noise at nearly the same frequency that seemed to be interferring with the operation of the switch.
I later upgraded the computer to a 450W power supply, and the noise level coming out of the card went down, and the Twinhan could then control at least one of my DiseqC switches, however other switches I have, work, but are still a bit "problematic". I have used the card sucessfully with switches, but I eventually gave up and now use my STB receivers to switch the switches.
Someone, here I think, posted a link to a discussion at a Mytheatre forum, ie:
    http://board.mytheatre.ru/viewtopic....497eac64b126db
where they discussed the problems with Twinhan cards and switches, and they showed how to modify some switches to improve their performance with computer cards.
I haven't tried any of these mods yet, but I may give it a try in the future.

But anyway, I think the main problem with the Twinhan is that it lets computer noise get through, not that it isn't sending the signals right. Also, I'm also convinced that the Twinhan cards don't put out enough lnbf voltage, as the cards tend to have a hard time activating the 18V polarity at times.
