I am using WinXP, The red window shows that I have a 71% signal. I am using the 102G PCI. The LNB is an old PrimeStar, NJR2162F, it uses a 22khz signal to switch from H/V. My other equipment, Satlook Perfict 10, showes a larger signal to nose ratio. None of the sats, I have looked at, will lock. Were shuould I look to to get a better set of instruction, for the 102G? The dish is currently, 48" offset with no dish mover employed.

Sorry, I can't help you with that dish/lnbf, I'm not familiar with it. I'm not sure how you would enter your switch settings in the software with a lnbf like that. You could have a look at SatelliteguysUS, do a search, its a forum also, I have read posts there of guys using the primestar with fta receivers. Maybe some one here will help you out also. Good luck

I don't have any experience with that model lnbf either. I've used primestars with separate H/V, but not the 22khz type. Also, I I have a 1020a and not a 102g, but they are pretty similar. Anyway, although I haven't used the 22khz on my 1020, I did find that initially I had problems with the card sending DiseqC commands, which I think are also sent via 22khz. I found that the problem went away when I upgraded the somewhat underpowered power supply on my computer.
However, this shouldn't stop you from at least tuning one polarity. You might try slaving this dish, ie powering the dish and controlling the polarity with another receiver, and T'ing off the signal through a DC-block to your 102g, just as an experiment to make sure where the problem is. After you get the card working that way, you can try again to get it to work while controlling the lnbf directly. You also might try using other software, such as DVBAPPS TSREADER. I'm not positive which of those does 22KHz properly, but they are easier to use when finding channels. ProgDVB and MyTheatre also are easier to use, but I'm not sure if they do 22khz at all.

EDIT:
On re-reading your post, I'm no longer certain that I read it right. I assumed that you had another receiver, perhaps that is wrong. Also not sure if your model Satlook tunes digital channels. If you haven't tuned FTA channels with this dish, at least make sure that you have the polarity set right, since each sat is different with a fixed primestar. The Satlook should show you whether both polarities are showing up at the same time, which would mean that you need to rotate the lnbf till only one showed up.
Also, if you haven't tuned channels with another receiver, you might be on the wrong sat, and/or not trying to tune an active transponder. Check Lyngsat for active transponders on the sat you are trying to tune, and also for nearby sats, and try different transponders.
What satellite, and what transponder are you trying to tune? And are you sure you are on the right satellite by other means?

I am using a simular set up, XP, 102G and was having the same problem. The problem turned out to be a corroded cable at the LNB. I cut the cable back about 6" installed a new connector and everything came up green in the signal and quality windows.
