Your signal finder probably pegged out on DirecTv 101 or Nimiq 91. Those little finders cannot accurately find T5.

i have a Fortec 36" dish and lnbf and a unmodified pansat 250a (notning flashed or updated) i can find a satelite with a satelite locator and the reciever acts like there is no satilite there. one of them was the T5 satelite and it peged out the finder, no quality at the reciever
anyone know what might be going on?

For as much as I like to help out our members I simply do not have time to answer Private Messages or emails asking about setup and other general issues. Please post your questions in the forums and we will try to help you out. Thanks.
yeah i have thought of that and found other satelites and had the same result, yet none of them gave me sound or picture
sound would be an improvement nothing at all is a disapointment.
i am begining to think the pansat 2500A is not KU band compatable. i have installed my directv satelite and friends dishnet dishes and had less problems from them that i have had with the pansat recievers.
Pansats are KU band compatible; C-Band too. Make sure you set up the LNB properly (like "Universal" with L.O. frequency = 10,600 MHz) according to the type of LNB you have; probably universal if its by Fortec.
Also make sure you have active transponder data for T5 (now called IA5).

Forget the signal finder - take the receiver and a small TV set out to the dish.
