Installation of T5 or Galaxy 3C

I'm having trouble installing my dish (Star Choice 30" with Flashlight non stacked LNB) on T5 or Galaxy 3C.I tried both of them and can only get a maximum of 60% signal and 0 quality.I'm living in Quebec City, maybe I'm too much north.I tested the antenna in Ottawa, where I bought it,And couldn't receive more then 60% Signal with 50% quality and I was receiving a lot of channels on T5.The person that sold me the FTA system told me that I couldn't get more then 65% with a 30" dish.If I can not get more signal,I'll stick with my 30" dish because I don't have the room for a bigger dish.I installed it on the side of the house.Maybe it's not high enough.Hope someone can help.

I can't have channels on T5

I have a signal strenght of around 60% and a quality signal of 0%.Even if I turn my dish 50 degrees off my signal is 55%.I have a star choice dish with a non-stacked flashlight lnbf and a Digipro free-to-air receiver. The neighbour have 2 threes in front of his house.I don't know if its threes are blocking the signal.By the way,if you know someone in Quebec City that can help me with my free-to-air system,send-me a message about it.

Re: I can't have channels on T5

The signal strenght is not as critical as quality. It also includes noise, that's reason why you get 55% although your dish is way off that target sat.
Check out the link below for the program called " Elevation for Physical Obstacle"
http://www.nordic-satellite.com/
Click at link, online satellite calculation, elevation for Physical Obstacle.
The program will help to see if the tree blocks the signal from this 2 sats.
good luck
Michael

re: Galaxy 3c

I'm in Thunder Bay with a Starchoice eliptical dish less than 30 inches across, I believe and I'm pointing it at Galaxy 3. I get about 70% strength and 40% quality. I've had no trouble picking up Telstar 5 or Galaxy 4 but with the dish I'm using I have given up trying to get anymore quality. I'm using the second generation LNB from Starchoice and on my second dish, exactly the same, I am unable to get a lock on Galaxy 10 much like your problem. I think that the Starchoice stuff is marginal in the "great white north". I have lots of room up here so my next purchase is either a 36" dish or all out for a 6' Cband. I'm using a Satwork receiver with the blind search feature and when its on its on but even if I'm a little off line no telling what will happen, I've had a combination of Galaxy 4 and telstar 5 all in one scan.

Good Luck

Thunder Bay FTA

With a 3 or 4 feet dish, you could get more signals. The 6 feet C-band dish would help you alot but it takes alot of room.I can't have a dish bigger than 3 feet here because there are not enough room and too much trees blocking the way.

Re: Thunder Bay FTA

"6 feet C-band dish would help you alot"
That's not correct in all the cases. Depend on the type of C-band dish. Not all C-band dish is capable to get Ku regardless the size. Your statement is correct if you are talking about 6ft solid dish.
