Scott is on a distinguished road
Check my calculations

My zip code is 49512 42.8N 85.5W: My true south should be 182 degrees, which from my location would put AMC3 as my true south satellite. Is that correct? and if so what would be a good transponder to look for on that one. Thank you

Your calculations look fine to me. AMC3 would be your "true south" satellite at an azimuth of 182 degrees and an elevation of 41 degrees. For a list of good transponders to check for signal ---> http://www.lyngsat.com/amc3.shtml Use the KU band transponders (11,000 MHz and higher) and look for the yellow "DVB" channels to set your receiver parameters.

If you are going to install a motor - I just assume you are since you make reference to "true south" make sure to read sadoun's motor installation instructions - dish elevation will be totally different than it would be for a non-motorized install.
