Some Help Guys :(

hi guys , i bought a "Twinhan VisionDTV-s 1025 Satellite PCI Card" and i installed the software and drivers just as they have been explained in the manual and i didn't get any signal on the program (knowing that the LNB has 4 ports and i'm using one of them directly to a reciver and tv and it's working perfectly so there can't be anything wrong with the LNB or dish confiurations and i also changed the cables to make sure they are working) and i uninstalled the software and downloaded the newer version from twinhan website and its still not working . is that normal !!! or should i take the card to where i bought it and have them check it ??

thanks in advance

You left out the important stuff, what satellite are you aiming at? what did you input into the twinhan software for settings? If you know for sure the dish is aimed properly, and works with a receiver then its just a matter of getting the settings right

OK, Nilesat 101,102 is not veiwable from my part of the world but from Lyngsat I can see that it is ku only. In the Twinhan software when I choose Nilesat 101 from the drop down box it defaults to normal which is lnb1 at 5150, lnb2 at 5750. Those settings are for a c-band setup. I'm guessing you have ku in which case you should choose in the drop down box beside lnb type =Universal. Give that a try. If that doesn't work choose custom and input 10750 for both boxes lnb1 and lnb2. Let us know how you are doing with it

The bottom button on the screen shot you posted, click on "advanced setup", then you will see where you can change the settings

Ok, my apologies, I didn't notice that. You are missing a tab (satellite setup tab) that I have showing on my twinhan software. I removed the software and re-installed to see if I could see why it would do that but it came up the same with easy setup tab and satellite setup tab along side it again. I am using TwinhanDTV 2.608 Build 01-02a if that is any help to you. I'm not sure what to tell you, if you are using the same build as me maybe remove and try a re-install?

I have a Twinhan 1020a card not the 1025 so I could be way off base with my advice of Twinhan software versions. Its good that 2.431 works for you. I doubt that my version 2.608 is any different than the one you are using, we both downloaded it from the same place. As far as the newer version I don't know what you would be gaining anyway. All the versions look pretty much the same to me.
You could give Progdvb a try, its donationware, you can find it here:
http://www.progdvb.com/
MyTheatre is what I use mostly, it is $40 but you can download the full version and use it, it is cripppled to only 1 hr use at a time until it is registered. BTW, I think it is well worth the $$ I think it is by far the best windows satellite software out there.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi starman, I just want to say thanks for your comments to and instructions to mrgowaili. It really helped me. I had all the right settings but I didn't have the LNB codes that you mentioned as being 10750. As soon as I plugged those numbers in I got green signal. Thanks so much.

p.s - mrgowaili - you really need to have that advanced menu. Try unistalling ithe software, my prgram version is the 2.608a. Hope you can get it working.

I can just add that even I have this "Advanced" button working,
Twinhan software is a no-go for me.
I can watch TV with ProgDVB and MyTheatre, but never with Twinhan software.
(I will try, still, because I want remote control)
