Echostar 7 is a circular polarized satellite, you are using a universal lnb, you won't get a signal. Try a nearby linear satellite, check Lyngsat. Maybe Satmex 5 or Galaxy 10

Thanks for the reply! I just try both of your suggestion (scan Galaxy 10R and Satmex 5 with the correct direction), still no luck, no signal. I read some other forum says LNBF SNH-031 need to enable 22k, try it, still no luck. For, the setting I have, should be pretty good. But why I didnt get any signal? am I getting a lemon?
I heard a lot of bad review of the starbox. Is that the one creating the problem?
Please suggest if I need a better receiver or LNB.

There is likely nothing wrong with your equipment. It takes a LOT of patience to setup your system. You just need to go slow, make small changes. You are talking like you have a motor but you don't list one in your equipment, do you have a motor? Pointing at a satellite is not enough, you need to select a transponder that is active and preferably strong, check Lyngsat.

Thanks again Starman,
Yes I do have a motor, but I havent install it yet. Coz I want to go for simple and make that easier to setup. Am I right?
What do you mean by"transponder that is active and preferably strong"? For my location, if I want to point to Galaxy 10 R, which transponder is consider as strong?
Thanks again.

Probably a good idea to lock onto a few satellites before you add the motor. On Galaxy 10 I get 11805H SR 4580 pretty strong here, give that a try. Are you using the Visiondtv software with the Starbox?

I try what you suggested. Still no luck.
But I found out ther is something intresting.
If I use the new software which downloaded from Twinhan, I always get 0% 0%. But If i use the orginal disk which come in the box. I will get arround 40% singal and 32% quality.
Just want to know why is that?

I'm not sure why the difference in the software, if you have signal AND quality, you should be able to lock onto a signal. For your universal lnbf set lof1 9750
sw 11700
lof2 10600
In the twinhan software I think they call it lnb1, lnb2, it is confusing. You dont' need to worry about 22khz setting, that is for a switch, in case you are using more than one lnbf, you are not using one so it doesn't matter how you set it, on or off.
To answer your question from earlier, I am on the east coast of Canada.....New Brunswick, looong way from you.

I am going to say that trying to aim a dish with a starbox or any PCI sat card is a very tricky operation. I found it is easier to use an FTA reciever or sat finder to do the initial alignment. I have posted in the H to H forum two links which you might find useful.
