Problems installing VisionPlus 1020a PCI card

I'm brand new to the forum and searching past threads has been very informative, but I didn't an exact answer for my problem. I've also posted my questions on other satellite forums, but still am still unable to properly install the card. Here's a summary:
My system:
Compaq Presario 6430nx
2.133mhz
512 RAM
WinXP sp2

I first tried installing the card using the CD that came with it and got a “Device not installed or not working” message when I tried to start the VisionPlus software. The VisionPlus program then shuts itself down.Device Manager showed two new devices with question marks by them. I then downloaded Twinhan 2.607 Build 10_02 and used those drivers to install the card. I got the "found new hardware" message, followed by a "There was a problem installing your new hardware. Your device may not work properly" message. Device Manager now showed “DTV Video Controller” and “DTV Audio Controller” installed. The Twinhan software (TwinhanDTV) also successfully installed. However, the TwinhanDTV program only allowed me to do a channel scan using terrestrial stations (which I don’t have) and all the satellite options were grayed out. I then installed ProgDVB to see if it would work with the card. ProgDVB did recognize the card, but I could never get any kind of signal, no matter what I did to the LNB settings. When I connected a DVB receiver to the same LNB, I got a strong signal. I tried fastening a short piece of coax to the “LNB in” connection of the card and then selected “power on” for the LNB in ProgDVB and saw no voltage at all through the coax. Both my LNBs are powered by my analog receiver, so “LNB power off” is my usual setting. I have no DisEcq switches anywhere in any of my connections. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the card and the software several times, using different PCI slots, and still get the same results. After each reinstall, I get the "found new hardware" message followed by a "There was a problem installing your new hardware. Your device may not function properly" Device Manager then shows a DTV Video Controller and DTV Audio Controller present and working properly.
I have installed TSReader and it says "Device not present" DVBApps also sees no signal.
Any suggestions or do I just have a bad card?
Thanks

Just an idea, try connecting your coax to the other connector on the twinhan card. I've read some of those cards were mis-labelled.
DTV video..DTV audio installed is correct, that is what mine says. Also, it always says "there may be a problem", it works fine though. Are your lof settings entered correctly?

Thanks Starman,
I tried connecting to the "LNB out" connection, but still no signal. For the LOF freq, I've been using 5150 Mhz for my C-Band LNB, 10750 Mhz for the Ku-Band, and 11250 Mhz for the DBV. I'm pretty sure that ProgDVB uses Mhz and I think that DVApps might use Khz, but I've tried both. The fact that you also get the "Your device might not function properly" message with a working card gives me hope that I might just have a software problem and I intend to keep trying.
Thanks.

Send a message via Yahoo to diefledermaus
When you see that message "Your device might not function properly" generally it means that the drivers are not installed correctly. Check the device manager and see if there is an ! or ? with a yellow triangle and re-install the drivers. You should restart after doing the installs. depending on the noise leve of the machine etc, you can sometimes here the relay click when power is applied. Also be aware that the twinhan are sometimes known for being nit picky about bus speeds. but that does not seem to be your issue.
Do you have any other video capture cards in this box, say for captuing terrestrial or cable TV?

Thanks Maus,
I finally gave up on trying to install the 1020a card and went with a USB Starbox instead. No problems installing it and very happy with it so far. Someday I might get around to trying to install the 1020a card on another computer and I'll follow your advice (and that of others) when it comes to driver installation.

Hi Scherry,

I have exactly the same problem of you! Did you solve
it or not? I suspect that my 1020A eeprom is corrupted.
The following is my 878 eeprom dump:
