Help! On getting my signal strength
Just got a 90cm Fortec Star with the reciever today and assembled the dish (the picture was quite confusing) and basically wanted to Get Galaxy 10R's TP7 (TarbsWorldTv) , so I calculated elevation 22, azimuth 240 true, 253 compass, and lnbf tilt 41 degrees counter clockwise. Well I did this and ROUGHLY, just for expirimentation put the dish on a table outside and basically only got 75 % max signal strength without ANY quality (0 percent) I made lots of adjustments but nothing. There is also a small , shallow dent in the dish. Can this be the problem? There is also tall trees 100 feet away, and for the elevation to be 22 that looks a little low, its like im pointing straight foward. One of my next plans is to put it on my roof, any comments on this? Thank you.. Coordinates: 40.59N , 74.31W (Universal LNBF)

WHat transponder frequency are you using to check for signal and quality? Make sure you use a live transponder like 11920.
Also, what receiver do you have? Make sure the LNBF is setup as universal with LO low 9750, and LO HI 10600

If those trees are fairly tall and only 100 feet away, you have a problem; especially with a really low elevation like 22 degrees. I would put the dish as high up as possible - roof is good. Forget about temporarily putting the dish on a table, etc. to try and get signal - it just won't happen. Mount it permanently and then align for signal.

OK I GOT IT!! I mounted on the side of the house, and got a 83 signal, 100 quality. BUT, I cannot get the channels I want on Galaxy10R like Pink, MKTV, and RTS! When I am at the channel search it is on galaxy10r and the transponder is on TP7 which is 11920, but for some reason sometimes it changes when I do a re-search. Anyway, when I do the search it picks up around 10 unamed channels and 3 channels which were named MACTV, HWAZAN, and DAI AI TV and two Polish Radio channels. I don't understand this because they work and the unameds have a "BAD SIGNAL" , but the ones that work get about 78 percent signal and it is bad quality, blocky, and the picture is not stable but blinks. The weird part is though that these are NOT ON Galaxy10R but on SATMEX5 !! I don't understand this. HElp.!
