Cannot get USB remote control to work with 102G

I just purchased the 102g and got everything else working perfectly except the remote control. Device manager shows as Unknown device, I have tried to reinstall it automatically and manually with/without the drivers cd
Im on an xp-sp1. The batteries on the remote are new and there is a red light on the receiver.
Drivers used: VisionDTV 2.43 PCI and VisionData 1.71
Any suggestions?

Thanks

I found that those pesky little usb IR-Receivers require connection via a USB 2.0 USB port, not a 1.1 port or a 2.0 port emulating 1.1

check your bios or mobo manufacturer's manuals for distinction between which physical ports are 1.1 and which are 2.0

Yes, that was the problem, I had it on a usb 1.1 and then I changed everything over to a much faster pc(with usb2.0) because of the software I was using and the remote works perfectly and even got it working with shortcuts for plugins.

Thanks

So does this mean that the 102G PCI comes with a USB IR receiver? If so, what does it show up as in device manager?

Nothing, all I see 'different/New' is "VSO devices"---->Patin Couffin engine

I found out that it shows up as a USB HID device, registers as keypresses instead of actual remote control codes so basically worthless for MythTV. Thanks for checking for me though.

It does work very well with "Mytheater" and the "Myepg" plugin. You can program it as a one-touch button from the "plugin" or from "Mytheater" using the "EPG" button on the remote.
