Its not a complaint

Before i post this i just wanted to let you all know that in no way i am complaining for the support in the forums, but i do think it is not very good up to this point and all those many posts from people asking questions and having troulbe installing thir fta system, reflects that.
I think sadoun and some other peeps here are doing the best they can to help everyone, but if you guys dont mind i would like to give my opinion, there should be some kind of a guide, i mean like a really beginners guide, and idiot's prove guide, lol to help everyone around here, i have read some of the posts and people start explaning things like if the beginners were already pros facing a problem with their system, we have to always remember that the people that come to this forum is in search of a very detailed explanation in how to set up their dish, otherwise they will still be lost.
Let me give and example and i hope somebody answers my post so i can finally set up my system. i have a motorized system that i bought from here, by the way great product guys. Now i mounted the antenna on a pole that is on the ground, i went to the installation support section and tried to calculate my angles, i live in miami, zip 33165, and this is what i got. for telstart 5, i got elevation 54.5, azimuth 214.8 and lnb polarization 30.9
now here where the problem comes, i know since i have a motorized system that my lnb wont require any tweaks and it goes straight down
supposely the pole is leveled, i would like to know first if the antenna and the motor has to be pointing to my true south. (can somebody give my my true south already including my magnetic deviation), second question is how do i set up my elevation and azimuth? i ask this question because i got confused, the motor has a scale with an elevation and a lattitude, elevation on one side, and lattitude on the other side, and the dish itself has an elevation scale also, what should i put in the dish elevation and what should i put in the motor elevation, thats got me very confused and probably is why i could not find my signal, now lets imagine i have the pole leveled, the elevation of the motor and dish set up, the dish with zero degrees on the motor aiming to my true south, what are the setting i have to look for in my receiver's menu, if the set up is correct once i tell the receiver to move the antenna to telstart5 will it do it by itself, i mean sorry if i am making this a very hard thing to do but i am just going crazy and would like a more detailed explanation of what i have to do and learn the process on the way so i will be helpful to others like me that are in teh same situation that i am. so please remember what i say, if you already know this please share the knowledge and time with the rest of us and thanks to all of you again for all the work you are doing here.

How about this ----> http://www.sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/Installation.htm

Sadoun has done a great job with this installation guide IMHO; I can't think of a thing to add. As for motorized dishes there is a separate link from within the above guide and that will answer all your questions about elevation, true south, etc.

Please take a few minutes to read the installation guides -- then if you still have specific questions please feel free to post them. We will endeavour to do our best to assist.

OK: here's an answer to the above question since it was quite specific: (all of this is found in Sadoun's installation support guides BTW)

Miami, FL: 33165

LAT = 25.77
LONG = 80.18
SKEW = 30.9 (this is for a fixed dish so ignore it as you have a motor)

1) You must mount the dish onto the motor shaft and aim the center of the dish so that it aligns with the "0" on the motor's scale (side to side scale - the one you see when looking at the motor from the top); tighten the dish bolts to the motor shaft - DO NOT tighten the motor bolts to the support pole - leave them loose enough to rotate the motor assembly on the support pole.

2) Set the motor's elevation scale to correspond to your latitude (26 in your case - round it off as you will never get accurate to 2 decimal places).

3) Set the dish's elevation scale to 34 degrees (this is derived from the "P" formula in Sadoun's instructions -- 59.90-25.77 = 34.13).

4) Set the LNB skew (tilt) to zero - connectors pointing straight down.

5) Using your compass find true south; this is 180 degrees plus the magnetic deviation for your area (+ 3 degrees for Miami, FL.); so therefore set your compass to 183 degrees -- this is true south for your area; rotate the motor assembly by hand so that the center line of the dish lines up with 183 degrees - use your eye to gauge this; then tighten the bolts securing the motor to the support pole.

6) Set up your receiver to locate Telstar 5.

7) Move the motor manually using the receiver's remote control and try to get signal from Telstar 5; if you cannot get signal it may be necessary to slightly adjust the motor's position on the support pole; try moving it a degree at a time - first west a bit and then east a bit.

8 ) If still no signal it may be necessary to adjust the dish elevation; DO NOT adjust the motor elevation as once it is set to be correspond to your latitude it needs no further adjustment. Move the dish elevation up a degree (eg: 35) or down a degree (eg: 33) and again move the motor to search for signal.

So that's it in a nutshell.

Good luck - we are here to help as always.

Bobkat, great details and explanation as usual. Thank You.

3) Set the dish's elevation scale to 34 degrees (this is derived from the "P" formula in Sadoun's instructions -- 59.90-25.77 = 34.13).
One correction: The Dish Elevation should be as follows:

Dish Elevation = P - (60 - Latitude)
Dish Elevation = 59.9 - (60 - 25.77)
Dish Elevation = 59.9 - (34.23)
Dish Elevation = 25.67
