noob sings the blues, signal strength problems

Hello everyone i am having trouble configuring twinhan1020a
I believe that there is a problem tuning the card some how
any how I have a coolsat pro that i share the dish coax i am using a dish 500 setup pointed at 119 and 110 my accutrac22pro tells me that I have 92% signal when measured at the roof .The signal meter on the coolsat agrees with this and the coolsat works just great. BUT now the twinhan only shows me 40% signal with no quality and no channel locks either
okay so im thinking maybe my lines are just too long but theyre just a hundred feet long diseq switch is just six feet into wiring with only one wire barrel splice at the lnb leads the computer in question is a p-4 celeron 2.7ghz with 2gb memory sis 650 video adapter and a sound blaster 24 bit digital value card windows xp home service pk 2

what do i have to do to get my twinhan going? should i be using some 3rd party software? why is the signal so low? i thank you good readers in advance

no hacking question asked or implied

just trying to get configured so knowi can at least touch a satellite i have a signal strength problem i think or a configuration settings problem i know i am hitting the bird with one setup i just dont know why i cant get the twinhan going i understand that most of the signals will be encrypted i can accept that if i just knew i was configured right then i could feel confident enough to hang another dish and hit a more open bird

Re signal strength, I would ignore that. The fact that it reads different from other receivers isn't important, as it is a unitless quantity.
Re lock. If you don't get lock, while other receivers do, it is typically because you have the LO set wrong. It needs to be set according to the type of LNB or LNBF you are using.

Does your coolsat have a LNB loop out ? Try slaving your twinhan to it, and tuning to the same transponder as your coolsat. If you get good signal, it means the LNB power supply of your card is toasted.

p/s. 110 & 119 both do circular polarization.

okay I tried adjusting the lo as follows i set the first number to11250 and the second to 12700 now the signal strength is at 45% but the quality is at 98% i did a scan and got only 15 channels many transponders yielded nothing some only two or three now the rub when i click to play ch 1,2,3- whatever i get a error that says: ERROR failed to play program
i feel i am so close what could be wrong now?

I haven't played around with a Twinhan card for a long time, but as I seem to recall, "Failed to play program" is the error message generated when the channel is scrambled.

I had the same problem yesterday while setting up my 1020A slaved to my Coolsat Pro while using the stock Twinhan software. I had the same error message on channels on IA5 that I knew was not scrambled. I finally gave up on the Twinhan software and downloaded ProgDVB and it works pretty well...MUCH better than the Twinhan software.
