Local Settings?

How do I tell this box (TwinhanDTV StarBox) where I am located? I'm a little slow so please be precise.

I must have you all stumped!

This has been posted for two weeks and no one in the world has replied, except for me.
Is the question hard to understand? ...poorly worded? ...or just a dumb question?
How does my Starbox learn that I am on the Pacific coast and not on the Atlantic coast? How can it coorelate a satellite's coordinates without this information?
Am I missing something?

Maybe people don't have StarBox or have just simply missed the question.

Do you have a motorized dish or just a dish without a motor? If latter is the case, you don't have to tell the software your location. You have to point your dish to the satellite you want and in the softare select that satellite and scan it to get channels.

If your dish is motorized (and considering it is tuned to track the arc correctly), in twinhan's software you will have to select to use the USALS (or Diseqc 1.3) and enter your latitude and longitude (longitude in Twinhan's software is a negative number for some reason). Once you do this, when you select a satellite in your visible arc, and tell it to go to that satellite, Twinhan will drive your dish/motor to that position.

Hope that helps.
