need help with new set up

I just moved to Mobile AL. My zip code is 36608. I just got my Fortec Ultra, 36" dish, satcontrol motor, and fortec universal lnb. I am having problems find and birds in the air. I am new to fta, and to motors. I don't have any idea what bird I am suppossed to be pointing at, what my elevation is to be, or my azimuth is. I know that my latitude is 30.7 and my longitude is 88.2. Other than that I am lost. LOL I have made sure that my mast is level to within 1/2 degree. Any help would be great.

Yes I have read the HH motor install instructions many times. LOL I just think that I may have it pointed wrong. But I'm not really sure. I used a compass and pointed the dish to 177 degress. I don't think that that is right? I have looked at my neighbors dtv dish and it is pointed almost 70 degrees off from where mine is pointed. I don't know if my compass is bad or what. I know that dtv has a bird at 119.

alright buddy... You will have to point the motor to 180 compass heading. You really don't need to adjust for variation because your are off by only a degree or two from the 0 degree line.

Next, you will have to move your motor for AMC 3 @ 87w. This is your closest true south sat. Set your receiver up and USALS the motor to AMC 3 and use TP 12110 H 14025 as an active transponder.

Make sure you have correctly set your dish elevation too (I don't have time to figure this out for you now but if you need to I can do it later)

BTW your neighbor's DTV dish has nothing to do with your setup.

Let us know if you have more questions..

OK I set my dish to 180 degrees, and my elevation to 54.2 and still have nothing. I don't know if I have to flash it to make it work or not. Any info would be great.

How did you end up with 54 elevation?

And no, you don't need to "flash" to get AMC 5.
