Polorization

I have a Channel Master 1M dish with the standard Channel Master Single Linear Feed and LNB. There is a scale and arrow on the feed with the arrow at ) degrees and the scale going plus or minus 40 degrees each side. Should the LNB be Verticle or Horizontal at that 0 mark arrow? The calculator says the Polorization / Skew tilt for my location is 23 degrees. Does that mean that if I want Horizontal transponder channels I should start with the rectangular opening in the LNB at the 180 degree horizontal degree position, then turn it clockwise an additional 23 degrees? Thanks for your help. I have not been able to find a clear explanation of how to set the Skew and how to change from Horizontal to Verticle on a single feed / single LNB. I assume I just turn the feed 90 degrees manually to switch from Horizontal to verticle.

At 0 degrees the LNBF is not skewed or tilted at all. If the calculatir gave you a positive value of 23 degrees, then you have to turn the LNBF counter clockwise 23 degrees. That is, you have to turn it to the left facing the LNBF and dish.

See the explanation here: http://sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/S...Calculator.htm

You don't have to turn the LNBF manually to view Vertical or Horizontal channels. Make sure your LNBF power is ON. The receiver will send a votage signal that will switch the polarity on the LNBF according to the transponder polarity. Saves you a trip to the roof
