please help this newbie with installation question

I did some research and reading on this forum and other sources before post this message. I would like to buy a FTA dish for my parent who would like to watch Asia channels , i do know which system I need to get , but i would like to know if I can install the dish on the back yard of their house or I have to mount it on the roof of their house. Also is there satellite dealer that provide FTA satellite installation. I located in Chicago land area. Thanks ahead.

Well, take a survey of the house, use a good compass, point it to where the dish should be pointed and check to see any place on the property that has a clear view of the sky based on what elevation the dish should be.

Usually it is better to mount on the roof as a last resort.

Sorry I don't know any Chicago installers but you CAN do it yourself if you are willing to spend some long hours. Just remember Sadoun has really good instructions and if you are confused somewhere we are here to help.
