Mast pole diameter

I'm an electrical engineer (not a mechanical engineer) hence the following question:

I'm trying to mount a DirecTV 18" dish.

A 1.25" diameter conduit is too small for it.
A 1.5" diameter conduit is too big for it.

The 42mm mount that came with the kit fits like a glove.

Since Home Depot or Lowes (at least in my area) don't stock metric pipe sizes, any suggestions where I should turn for 42mm conduit or pipe?

Are you trying to eliminate the "J" pipe that came with the mount?

If you are attempting to mount the dish to a pipe, all I simply did was drill some extra holes in the mounting "foot" that was at the end of the J pipe, and used U bolts to hold that to the mast.

I ordered the 5 foot tripod

which didn't come with a pipe.

The actual plan is to install my FC-90 90cm dish/HH90 motor close to the ground, and stick the 18" DTV dish at 101 (yes, I'm still paying for DirecTV!) above it, on the same pole.

Guess I don't follow. What 42mm mount are you talking about here?

Looks like your best bet is try to find that missing pipe.
Old single lnb & directv dishes are a dime a dozen.
You should be able to find the j-pipe quite easily.
Ask some friends/neighbors.
