Initial Power up SYSTEM w/rotor: POINT SOUTH OR TO T5

I have a receiver 786V3 with a HH100 rotor and a dish.
When I align on mast to the south, the azimith will be at 180° geographic, Correct?
I question this because the rotor is shipped with the shaft a ZERO position or the notch is at zero. On some parts of the instructions it tells you to get the azimuth and align the rotor/sat for lets say T5, but REMEMBER the rotor is factory defaulted at ZERO positon. So where do I start? At zero notch facing 180° I assume, and then when the receiver is powered up for the first time I will then follow set-up and proceed to go to T5 and try to tune on a signal. Too bad there is no Satellite directly south @ 180° as a beacon .
thanks
arthur

with the Motor at Zero, you need to point the Motor and Dish to TRUE SOUTH. That is 180 + or - the magnetic deviation for your location. See the map here for the magnetic deviation for your area: http://sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/S...ion-Angles.htm

Once you have your dish assembly and motor pointing to true south, use the receiver to move the dish to T5.

Go to Channel Search
After Antenna 1
Select T5 for the drop down menu
Go to TP DATA and click OK
Select a LIVE transponder on T5 (i.e. 12152) click OK
Go to Positioner and change it to DiSEqC 1.3 (USALS) click OK
Enter your Lat and Longitude. Make sure your LONGITUDE value is followed by W and not E
Click on STORE

The Dish will move to T5
If you dish/motor setup is correct, you will see a SIGNAL and QUALITY (GREEN in color) when the dish stops. If not, that means your dish still needs some adjustment. Start with moving the motor/dish assembly by hand East or West a few degree very slowly to adjust your true south.

If you are close to the satellite, you will see some QUALITY. Maximize that by adjusting the elevation on the DISH.

Tighten your DISH/Motor assembly and then click on START to begin searching the satellite for the channels.
