Real Newb Question - What kind of Equipment...?

Hi,

I have done a lot of research online about FTA, Receiver, Satellites, etc and am getting ready to buy the equipment. I live in Michigan (83 W) and I would like to receive channels from satellites - AMC3, Telstar 5, Nimiq and possibly SatMax5

My questions are:

If these satellites are "so much" apart, do I need a motorized satellite of can I just buy differnet LNBs?

Can I just move the satellites by myself just to point to different satellites with DishNetwork's superDish and LNBs?

Your help is greatly appreciated. If you can point me to some tutorials or informational sites, that will be great too.

Thanks.

I suggest either a motorized dish or else the torroidal dish like Sadoun sells. The satellites you want cover a 30 degree range so the torroidal dish can handle it. This spread is too much for a conventional dish.

DishNetwork's Superdish is too small for most FTA satellites.

PS: Here is a good informational site on all things DishNetwork ---> http://ekb.dbstalk.com/
