diseqc question

recently, when i installed my 36 inch dish,i connected the wire running from my sg2100 motor to my pansat diseqc then to my receiver.when i turn my pansat receiver on i notice i got a very low signal strength and the reeiver acted kind of funny.i shut off the receiver and disconnected the diseqc and turned on the reciever, but i keep shorting out the receiver.maybe i had bad rg-6 wire.i never tested the wire before i connected it.i ran a new line of rg-6 wire (100 feet), but i didn't connect to the diseqc and now my receiver works fine and i get good quality and signal strength. can the diseqc destroy the wire.i'm afraid to put the diseqc on the wire.i want to strap on dss lnb .

Re: diseqc question

Put the Diseqc switch between lnbfs and SG2100.
