Telstar 5 in Redmond, WA?

Hi,

I am trying to set up my system to receive Telstar (Intelsat Americas) 5 in Redmond, WA. I have an 80cm dish and have tried two different universal ku LNBFs without any luck. I am using a new SatHawk 3000 to do the alignment (which is a great tool BTW) and although I have managed to get a good solid lock on a bunch of other satellites (with Galaxy 11 being the easiest to find), I have spent hours positioning the dish and searching for Telstar 5 without a signal satellite found indication from the meter. I have a clear line of site to the satellite, have followed the directions for elevation and azimuth (which work for all the other satellites I've tried) and my mounting pole is perfectly vertical and concreted into the ground. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks.

Andrew

Make sure you are on an active frequency ex: 12177 V symbol rate 23000 fec 2/3 or auto
Make sure your dish have the right elevation. You can calculate your elevation here:
http://sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/S...Calculator.htm
Make sure your lnb is skwed the right way. You get the skew from the same calculator above see here:
http://sadoun.com/Sat/Installation/L...stallation.htm
Make sure your pole is plumb.
Be patient because this happens to everyone installing a ku system for the first time.
Good luck
