New setup...first timer....just can't figure what the scoop

is. I bought Number 7 on the complete systems page. Fortec Lifetime Ultra with the HH90 motor and the 31 inch Fortec Star Dish.

I live in Colorado.

Latitude - 38.954
Longitude - 104.5722
my P is 44.9 giving me elevation of 38.854.
Azimuth showed 180 adjusted by -10 according to map is 170.

I chose AMC1 as my closest true south satellite since it is 103.0W.

I have been trying to land the Pentagon channel from AMC1 to insure I have the right Satellite. When working in the Antenna setup menu I have NEVER seen green quality in trying to land this channel.

My compass isn't the best in the world and as I stated in the title I am a first timer, but my frustration is growing and this weekend is the first time that I can get a certain feed (the whole reason I bought the setup) and I am afraid I might miss it. I've read through the posts and tried many times to get this station. Any help or suggestions to ease the process is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tim

I forgot to add that I do change the TP to 12100 V 20.000 in searching for this channel.

Try to set up AMC2 as your true sat. It is Dish and all encrypted, but it uses linear polarity and you should be able to get a lock using universal lnb. Ofcourse you want be able to view any programming on it, but you will get a signal and quality.

Don't relly on numbers and marking on the dish. You will most likeliy need to play with dish elevation a little bit and nudge the whole setup (including the motor) left and right until you get a lock.
