Picture with no sound

On AMC3, I am trying to get PBS kids. I tried TP20 And TP21. TP 20 won't lock and TP21 locks and i get the 4 pbs chanells but no sound. Any ideas?

I believe the PBS channels are in Dolby Digital AC3 audio only. I remember reading posts about this before. You need a receiver with an AC3 audio output such as the Fortec Lifetime Ultra.

It's dolby digital (AC3) audio. You'll need an outboard dolby digital decoder to get the audio. The Ultra has an output port for digital audio, some receivers can't get AC3 (I mention this because you don't say what receiver you have)

I have bec 6600CI+ reciever. It doen't have a special AC3 output. Would I be able to reroute the audio signal to an AC3 decoder??

how were you guys able to tell that it's AC3. I don't see anything on lyngsat about that.

Your receiver needs to be able to handle the digital audio signal in itself. If it doesn't have the S/PDIF connector for digital audio and handle AC3 decoding inside, you're out of luck.

I remember reading it here. Someone "in the know" must have posted the answer before and I remember lots of folks asking about no audio and this was the answer.
