Help with LNBs
Hi,
We are starting to install FTA satellite systems. One problem we are having is telling whether an LNB that comes with systems is a standard, universal, or stacked. The LNBs are not marked with these terms. How can I learn more about LNBs or tell what kind of LNB I am installing.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Dave

Usually the LNBF or its box should have a freq range listed.
Standard LNBF have a range between
11.7 - 12.2 GHz,
LO Freq: 10750
22KHz: Off (unless you are using a 22KHz switch)
Universal go from
10.7 - 12.75 GHz with
Lo Low: 9750
Lo High: 10600
22KHz: ON or AUTO

Sadoun,
Thanks for your reply. In the antenna setup screen and it asks for LO ...do I input 9750 or 10600.
Also, could someone explain about setting the polarity of the LNB. It is a round and shaped like a bullet. It has a single mark on the top. Is this the O degree mark? For positive degrees do I rotate it clockwise.
Thanks everyone,
Dave

Hi Dave:
You put in 10,600 MHz for the L.O. frequency.
The mark is usually the zero degree mark and points up for 12 o'clock or 0 degrees (no skew). Rotate your LNB counterclockwise if you live in the east or clockwise if you live in the west. See alignment instructions for complete details.

We used to sell these LNBFs a few uyears ago. It is not a high performance lnbf. It is a standard LNBF and LO freq should be set at 10750

Sadoun,
That is it. Maybe I will upgrade the LNB. I hate cheap parts and will only increase the price to my customer, who will be getting a better system. Can you recommend a high quality LNBF for me.
Thanks,
Dave

Can u recommend your highest quality DUAL LNBF? I see the fortec and Pansat with .7 and .6 db. One is universal and one is standard. What difference does it actually make?
Are dual/quad LNBF's automatically not as good as single LNBF's?
Thanks,
JohnnyD
