why can not see all the Tp's ?

I can see frequency 11867 and 12152 but not 12090 of
lyngsat Intelsat Americas 5 (97w) . I know 12090 is live
transponder and I put it the TP information on my FOrtec DVB
with the right S/R and other info. I can see the signal strength
at 80% but quality is 0. Has any one seen this before?

Thanks
leo

Re: why can not see all the Tp's ?

Not getting all transponders on the same sat is a symptom of:
1. Dish is not well alligned. Try to repeak you dish.
2. Skew is not correct.

Thanks for the info.

DO you mean re align the dish left to right or up and down :-)
also which skew? the lnb or dish skew? i thought moving up and down
the dish is same as changing the skew angle (not lnb skew rotation).
If i move the dish in less than 1/4 of inch, i lose the signal right a way.
So i was thinking maybe it is bad lnb?

thanks

Leo,
Try:
1. Leave the dish the way it is now., rotate the lnbf to see if the the signal improves. If not, then try to re-alligned the dish.
2. Make sure you use good cable, good connector.
3. If you still can't pick up all the transponders, it's either the dish is wraped or bad lnbf.

Thanks for the info. I will re align again tomorrow.
Just wondering, if it is bad lnb, or cable or dish, why is that
i can see "perfectly" 3-4 other TP's and not the rest?
just wondering because I don't want to start replacing hardware
unless I am 99% sure. :?:

Also try adjusting the focal distance of the LNB. This means to pull the LNB farther away or closer to the dish reflector. This can also make a difference in signal strength. Not all LNBs or LNB holders have this provision however.

Thanks to all who replied. You guys are the best.

I got it working. The problem as "DTSEXPERT" suggested was
skew problem. Just a little tap on the dish, I was able to
get the quality higher and get the channels I want. It is scary
because it is in the factor of millimeters..I better add support pole to the dish to hold it better for windy days...

For all those people who give up too easy on getting the signal, try a little
harder, it is worth the final goal.

Thanks everyone...
