Need Help

I'm trying to program a Prosat P-5600 receiver to get G10. I'm looking to get Tarbs World Tv. Do I just have to enter the frequency Tp (11920 v) and SR-FEC (28066) and that's it or is there more to it, like setting up the lnb numbers or something. Also, where the signal meter screen is, there is a "p-error: unlock" displayed, what does that mean. I know this is an older receiver but any help would be appriciated.

Re: Need Help

I don't have this receiver therefore I can't give you the exact step.
Few suggestion:
1. You will need to key in freq, polairty (either H or V), SR.
2. Make sure you set the LOF correctly. Standard: 10750, Universal (low 9750, high 10600). You can try to access to the settings of other sat possition to see how it it set up.
3. If you see "error" or "unlock", it means that the receiver does not get locked on G10R.
Does you dish aim at G10R? Or are you trying to learning how to set up the receiver for tuning the dish at G10R?

Since the receiver doesn't have G10 programmed, I used the User5 spot and put in the frequency (11920),SR (28066), Polarisation (vert), 0/12v mode (0v), 22 kHz mode (Auto) and LNB1 (10,750 low and 10,600 high).

I guess where it says P_ERROR RATE: UNLOCK, it doesn't have G10 locked in. The signal level is less than half and the SNR (?) bounces back and forth. Should I be moving the LNB in it's bracket left or right or keep it straight up and down. I'm pretty sure I'm pointing to the right spot, but i'll try again.

Wrong LOF, set low and high at 10750 (assuming your lnbf is standard).
You will need to adjust the skew for G10R. Check out Sadoun installation link for dish elevtion/azimuth and skew angle.
Good luck

I'm using an old Bell Express LNB, I was told that it is linear polarization and that is what I need. Right?

Yes, old BellVu lnbf is standard linear, LOF 10750. You will need to set the skew for G10R.
