trouble finding T5 again

I having troubles finding T5. I had bobkat come by and find T5 for me. At that time I had a motor but was not installed. I marked the position of the dish in relation to the dish mount, so I know exactly where T5 is. I remove dish placed motor on mount, at this time I do not have motor connected.

So now dish is on motor mount, I align every thing the way it was. Can't find quality I get about 80 strength. I know it's right there, just won't lock on.

I did notice that some transponders the signal will lock on. On other transponders the signal is quickly jumping all over the place. For example a tranponder that I think should work well 11836 v the signal will not lock on, this is the same transponder I used when checking before taking dish of mount. The transponders with NTSC feeds will lock on but no quality along with some other transponders but not all.

Any suggestions I'm use a tv and receiver

Re: trouble finding T5 again

Settting up a Diseqc mount to motorize the dish is totally different than a fixed dish. Instruction:

I realize there is a differance in setting up a motorized dish, but the dish is not connected no cables going to motor. So at this moment it should be same as not using the motor.

are you using the fortec ultra , I been having problem setting up my motor too. so i took the motor off and then try to get telstar5 with out the motor. but only get signal but no quality. I was moving the dish up, down, side way but no go. Then it snap me, I look at the setting and it was wrong. check the LNB type, LNB-Local-freq, and TP. I had to change those.
LNB type: Universal 2
LNB Local-freq: 9750-10750
TP: 11929v22.000
Try that for IA5/KU

Thanks for the reply mikecooler. I'm not using a fortec, I'm using a FreeVu 2000.

The setting are as you suggested, still does not work.
