Level 90 Quality 0

I have just received my Pansat
1. pansat 2500a.
2. sg 2100 rotor motor to move the dish.
3. Universal LNBF for KU on Diseq 1
4. Circular LNB on Diseq2
5. 80cm KUband dish with dual Lnb bracket.
6. My Long is 82.5W and Lat is 28.0 N I have already adjusted and pointed to my true south with the gross settings of 25 for dish bracket elevation and 62 0n the rotor for Elevation angle.

I turned the pansat on and was going to go thru the quick start guide but 90 on level and and 0 on quality. Movef the lnbf in and out left and right, tried mocing the dish left and right up and down is there something I am missing?

Couple of things here Samsil. First, before connecting any switches you should be running the coax straight from the LNB to the motor then to the receiver. This ensures your aiming and rules out any switch problems that could drive you nuts trying to figure out why you can't get signals.
Now, in the Antenna setup, choose a sat, set your LNB setting and Lo Freq properly. Standard LNB for the Circular and 11250 for Lo Freq. Universal 1 for the linear, the Lo Freq will set automatically.
Now, ensure you are pointed at the correct sat. Word of caution here.... I, and many others have had tons of problems with the Pansat receivers and SG 2100 motors. They don't like each other for some reason. Both companies blame it on each other's equipment. I had the 2100 myself and ended up changing it and going with a STAB HH120 and it works flawless inboth USALS and 1.2 mode... ok that out of the way.. as I said make sure you aim to the proper sat. If you get low or no quality try changing Tramsponders (TP). If you still get nothing you will need to tweak your dish alignment. Try moving the dish, ever so slightly, east and west... if this doesn't help tweak the elevation up and/or down in small increments and then turn the dish east and west again in ever so small increments. It might take a while but you'll get it with some playing. Once you get good signal and quality on that sat move to a new one. If you don't get anything on the new one you will need to tweak your adjustments again to make sure you are hitting the arc properly.

Here's a strange little anecdote regarding dish aiming.......... I had my circular LNB setup and was getting pretty good signal and quality on the circulr birds. I got the Linear LNB and popped it on and couldn't get anything. I played with the elevation and azimuth but still couldn't get anything on the Linear LNB. I was sure I had the arc down as I was getting birds on both sides of the belt with the circular LNB... So I started messing with the focus of the linear LNB (pulling it in closer and out farther from the dish).I got it to where I got the peak signal but still got no quality. I had the LNBs attached using plastic zip ties but haddn't fastened them down tight yet in case I needed adjustements... Well....... I htought maybe the prot I had the coax hooked to might be bad so I decided to unhook from that port and try the other. As I reached out and grabbed the linear LNB to disconnect the coax I twisted the LNB and happen to glance at the little television I was using and couldn't believe my eyes..... 81 signal and 53 quality.... I sat there very still watching it and then looked at the LNB.... I grabbed up the electrical tape to fasten it in a temp fashion. After fastening it I checked the meters again and they still read 81 signal and 53 quality (By the way.. I was pointed at IA 7 129W). Then I stood back and stared at the dish from the front and eyed down the feed horn on the LNB. I was totally stunned at what I was seeing. The LNB wasn't pointed any where near the center of the dish. In fact.... it was pointed to the far lower left corner of the dish and when you eye it up you would swear it isn't even pointed at the dish at all but a little off the lower right side of it into empty space. Now I'm sitting there thinking "No frikin way.. it isn't possible!" So I do a sat scan on IA 7 and I'll be damned.... a buncha channels start popping up. When the scan was finished I checked the channels and sure enough they came in. Now I'm thinking.. I can't be pointed properly.... so I move the dish with the motor to G11 at 91W.. do a scan and up pop channels and they come in. So I'm still skeptical... I wirte down the names of a bunch of the channels from each bird I just scanned, climb down the ladder and go into the houseand check both SatcodX and Lyngsat to check the channels lists for the two birds I just scanned. Sure enough, to my amazement, they correspond... So I go back up and move the dish again to G10 at 123W... bam I get the correct channels... then I move to AMC4 at 101W and again get the correct channels..... I'm still dumbfounded at this. I honestly can't figure out how I'm getting these birds with the LNB pointed where it is pointed and also still keeping on the arc. I checked the circular birds with the circular LNB hooked up and they too are still getting their correct channels (which should be the case since I didn't move that LNB at all).
I still have to tweak some of the setting as a couple of the birds don't have quality yet but most of them are coming in fine.
If anyone could explain this very strange phenomenon please do.

Perhaps it was pointing at your neighbor's dish (really long focal distance)...

That is totally weird; and I 'm the dork who told you to point the LNB towards the center of the dish... . What do I know... HeHeHe

hehe I htought it was common knowledge to point the lNB to the center of the dish.. I mean.. that's how it SHOULD be shouldn't it hehe. When I got back up to tweak the other birds I'll take the camera up and snap some shots of it to show ya.
