Some help please, Zero quality ...

Hi, This is my first post, have been reading for months and this formus helps me but now I'm stuck. I got a Topfield TF3000FI receiver and 30" dish with universal LNBF. Setup in my house ok get it right in the same day after reading Sadoun installation help. I bought the same system to install on my sister house and no matter what I do its 85 signal and 0 quality. Changed to a different active TP also changed LNBF frequancy to 10750 (And I know its universal should be at 9750/10600) but trying to find any reason for that problem.
I noticed that T5 is located left to Bev Nimiq 91 Sat. about 9~10 degree apart but still no quality. My Elev. location is 36.8 degree, Az. at 205.1 degree and Skew at 17.9 (positive moved the LNBF counter-clockwise).
What I'm missing here, any help please.

Do you have a clear view of the sky.
Do you have a microwave communications tower nearby the installation.
Are you using an angle finder to set your dish elevation. The angle scale
on the dish is not accurate, sometimes off 5 to 7 degrees.

T5 is located right of Nimiq 91 ( T5 is at 97 degrees) so its further west - making it to the right of Nimiq 91; referenced from behind the dish.

Is the LNB POWER turned on in the receiver?

Could be a defective cable or bad LNB.

Thanks for the reply, I do have a clear view and the reason is Bev dish is beside this dish on the front side of the house so no any elecrtical equipments there.

Bobkat, I think T5 (Az. 215, Elv. 36.8) is left to Nimiq 91 (Az. 207, Elv. 38.3) if I stand behind the dish bev is more to the right angle and T5 is a little left to T5 about 9~10 degree. And yes the LNB power is on, the cable is brand new (100') and when I disconnected get the signal 0 means the cable is fine.
Any more suggestions, Thanks ...

zohar:

Your compass says it all; Nimiq 91 is at 207 -- T5 is at 215. 215 degrees is more "west" than 207 is; so that makes T5 more to the right than Nimiq 91 when you are standing behind the dish. In other words when you are standing behind the dish you are looking south (180 degrees) -- going to your right means going more west.

Yes, a defective LNB may give false readings; Why don't you swap the LNB from your system and try it at your sister's place; that will rule out (or confirm) the LNB.

Ok it was 2 problems, first after I tryed to move the dish to the right to Nimiq 91 it was hit the wall and had to get a longer mast to give me more space to adjust the Azimuth. Secondly the LNB was not aimed to the center of the dish I had to move it up till I get the quality. It was unexpected problems but solved.

Thanks for the help.
