What kind of receiver are you using? What kind of LNB - universal or standard? We need more info.

If you're looking at the lnb facing the dish it should be at 5 o'clock. The elevation on the fortec dish is not always accurate. I found that it should be at least 1.5 degrees more than stated. If you see that the signal strength is going over 85 and no quality while pointing to the right angel then you need to adjust the elevation angle. You need to go real slow as 1/4 degree will make a difference. Check to see if the lnb set to universal and the lnb is not too close to the dish. Try to check frequency of 11836 or 11874

Good luck.

I found that my elevation was off by 9 degrees. My mast pipe is completly plumb so that is not the problem. I think the LNB arms may be off a bit. After I found this out it is no problem to lock onto a sat. Takes about 5 min. I'm still waiting on my motor to come in. My elevation is 9 degrees lower than what is called for. Just take time and go 1 degree at a time untill you get the quality.
